Linda W. Giannantonio (Wegehaupt) - mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly at her home in Oceanside, California on February 2, 2018.

Born in New Jersey in 1936, and raised in Paramus, our mom married the love of her life Gabriel Giannantonio and together they had three children; Donna, Lori, and Glenn. After dad's passing in 1972, mom raised us as a single mother, always putting our needs ahead of her own.

Mom dedicated her work life to the Paramus and Morris Hills School Districts, eventually retiring in 2000. She moved to southern California to be closer to the three of us and to escape the New Jersey winters. She took great joy in reminding friends back east how she never had to deal with snow or ice, especially when they were dealing with bad weather.

Mom loved to travel, go whale watching (including on her 80th birthday), do crafts and puzzles, and dote on her only grandchild, Emma. She will be fondly remembered for her independence, courage, and generosity to family and friends alike. We will treasure our happy memories of her.

At her request, no services will be held. Anyone wishing to honor our mom's memory are asked to simply spend some extra time with their children or grandkids, take a whale watch, do a puzzle, or paint a birdhouse! Mom would be pleased.
