2025 Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarship recipients announced

Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarship News

This is an initial brief of the 2025 awards. The committee received 161 applications on April 29. This was reduced to committee's top 10 Seniors. These 10 were asked to submit an essay of up to 500 words that showcases how they have demonstrated these Ken Tashian attributes during their time at Paramus High School, and how they foresee their participation or activities will influence their college years and beyond. These were evaluated and we returned our selection letters to the Administration by the deadline of May 19 for the Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarship.

The following 2025 Seniors were awarded Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarships on Wednesday, June 11 at the Annual Senior Scholarship and Academic Awards Program in recognition of their "Spartan spirit" and contributions to the high school and Paramus communities.

About the Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarship

The Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarship is the first scholarship created by the PHSAA. It is awarded to a Paramus High School senior who embodies its namesake’s Spartan spirit, through activities that benefit the school and/or wider community. Tashian was a gold medalist in the Bergen County Wrestling Tournament, organizer of many class reunions, and creator of the ParamusSpartans.net website through which thousands of alumni network, connect, memorialize classmates, find class pictures, get links to download yearbooks and explore PHS and Paramus history and memorabilia. Tashian created, managed and funded the website on his own for decades.
