Michael John Carluccio, 79, of Newport, NC, died March 25, 2010, at home. He was a school psychologist for 31 years and worked for the Paramus School System in New Jersey. In 1992, he retired to Fairfield Harbour and taught psychology at Pamlico Community College for East Carolina University, and he authored 10 books.

He is survived by his wife, Constance, and his five sons, Michael J. Carluccio of Weehawken, N.J., Thomas A. Carluccio of Minnetonka, Minn., James Carluccio of Foothill Ranch, Calif., Stephen C. Carluccio of Bedford, Mass., and Paul A. Carluccio of Lanoka Harbor, N.J.; one daugh-ter, Jude Anne Carluccio of Minneapolis, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Rebecca O'Sullivan of Glen Ridge, N.J., and Alison M. Spinner of New Bern; and 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38105, any local animal shelter, or to the charity of your choice.
