Stratos Charles "Steve" Provatas, 50, of Fair Lawn died December 21, 1980. Formerly of Paterson, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Provatas was a science teacher at Elmwood Park High School for 18 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Harriet Manios; a son, Peter; two daughters, Elaine and Anne, all at home; and his mother, Helen, of Greece. Burial in George Washington Memorial Park,  Paramus.
