Michael Margulis - Class of 1977

Michael H. Margulis

October 30, 1959 - December 1, 2007

Michael H. Margulis, 48, of Towaco, co-founder of the New York office of the international law firm, Duane Morris LLP, died on Saturday, December 1, 2007.

Mr. Margulis was born in New York City on Oct. 30, 1959, and was a graduate of Princeton University and Stanford Law School. In 1994, he helped found the New York office of Duane Morris, the century-old Philadelphia-based law firm that now has more than 600 lawyers in four countries. He was only in his 30s at the time. Earlier, he worked at Shea & Gould as one of the key lawyers representing Comcast in Philadelphia, and Stanley Stahl in his hostile acquisition of Apple Bancorp, Inc.

A great fan of science fiction, particularly the novels of Isaac Asimov, he imbued his family with a love of baseball and his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; a daughter, Rebekah, and a son, Daniel.
