DELACRUZ, Juan Jose, "Jay" to his family and friends, 53, of Palmetto Bay, passed away on December 17, 2012. Jay was born in Camaguey, Cuba, graduated in 1977 from Paramus High School, NJ and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1981. Jay enjoyed a successful career in sales and for the past 10 years worked as an Account Executive for Combined Insurance. Jay was a loving, gentle, upbeat man who always recognized the best in others. Jay knew no strangers as he easily engaged in conversations and humor with those around him. Jay enriched the lives of his family and lifelong friends and his memory will endure and continue to enrich all who survived him. Jay was devoted to his family and friends and, above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his son and daughter. Jay is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kendall; son, Jayson, and daughter, Jennifer; his parents Juan and Lucila de la Cruz of Miami Beach, FL; two brothers and their spouses, Jose and Barbara of Boca Raton, FL, Juan and Lauren of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. A Memorial Service will be held at Stanfill Funeral Home on Saturday, December 22 at 12:00 noon. Jay will never truly leave us... he lives on in the kindnesses he showed, the joy he shared and the love he brought into our lives.
