Robert Adamo - Class of 1975

Robert Michael Adamo

1957 - 2025

Robert Michael Adamo, 67, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2025, after an 8.5-year battle with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer.

Born and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey, Bob earned a mechanical engineering degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University before moving to Silicon Valley on January 1, 1980. In December of 1990, he met Dr. Melanie De Gennaro, and they married the following year after becoming engaged only 2 months after their love story began. Their love was instant and undeniable.

Bob soon founded Technical Builder's Inc. (TBI), a commercial general contracting firm. As a passionate and visionary leader, he shaped TBI into a respected company and eventually transitioned it to an employee ownership. After retirement, the family moved to Carlsbad, CA, where the ocean brought peace and healing during his illness.

A dedicated golfer, Bob achieved two holes-in-one, 3 months apart in 2014. One at Pebble beach (12th hole) and the other at CordeValle (12th hole).

After his cancer diagnosis in 2017, Bob turned to integrative care and became a beacon of strength for others facing similar challenges. His faith in God was central to his journey. It gave him courage, peace, and perspective during even the most difficult times. He often spoke about the power of prayer, the presence of miracles, and how God's grace was evident in every moment. Bob inspired others not only through his commitment to healthy living but by sharing his unwavering belief in God as a healer and miracle worker.

Bob was a deeply devoted husband and an exceptional father to his daughters, Bianca and Adriana. He was a constant source of wisdom encouragement, and unconditional love. He lived with integrity, joy, purpose, and faith-based values that he passed on daily.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie De Gennaro-Adamo, his eldest daughter, Bianca Adamo-Novak, who is expecting her first child this summer; and his youngest daughter, Adriana Adamo. He also leaves behind his sisters, Deidre Morgan and Kim Adamo as well as many extended family who loved and cherished him.

A Celebration of Life was held in the fall of 2025 to honor Bob's extraordinary life - a devoted family man, a man of faith, a mentor, and a friend whose legacy will continue to touch lives for generations. Bob's strength, humor, bright blue eyes, and engaging smile will be deeply missed. He was a true warrior and a guiding light to all who knew him.

"But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation." Psalm 13:5
