Thomas Richard Weaver

December 31, 1953 - June 18, 2026

Thomas Richard Weaver, Sr. of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Age 72.

Born on December 31st, 1953, in Hackensack, NJ, he was the son of the late John Crowther, Jr. and Evelyn Marie Dougherty Weaver.

Tom, or “Weav”, who graduated from Glassboro State College in 1976, was a teacher of speech and theatre at Cherry Hill High School East for 42 years, designing and directing hundreds of productions in that time. Additionally he spent his summers doing the same at Mainstage Center for the Arts since 1989, as well as dozens of productions for Glassboro High School, Spotlighters, and Voorhees Theatre Company. Tom was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Phillies, and shared his love of sports with his four children throughout his life, including as a baseball and soccer coach to them. Perhaps most of all, Tom loved his model trains, and delighted in sharing his ornate train set with his grandchildren.

Tom was the beloved husband of Anne Marie (née Randall), the loving father of Thomas R. Weaver, Jr. (Colleen Marie); Erin Weaver; Robert Weaver and Caitlin Weaver. Devoted grandfather of Lilly MacArthur, Maisie Posner, Christopher MacArthur-Weaver, Charles MacArthur-Weaver and Lylah MacArthur-Weaver. Dear brother of Carol Marie Weaver; Daniel Weaver (Holly); Peter Weaver and the late John C. Weaver, III. Also survived by sister in law Andrea Weaver.

The family has requested that memorial contributions can be made to the Tom Weaver “Above and Beyond” Scholarship in honor of Mr. Weaver’s legacy. The Tom Weaver “Above and Beyond” Scholarship is awarded each year at graduation to a student who has demonstrated a strong work ethic and love for the Cherry Hill High School East Theatre Program.
