James Nicholas Ferreria - Class of 1960

James "Nik" Ferreira Sr., 66, longtime East End Superior resident died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at his home. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on April 3, 1942, the son of Joseph and Charlotte Ferreira. He was employed by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office as jail sergeant retiring in 1995 after twenty years of service. Nik served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid dart player and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and baseball. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa DiMartino, Belle Mead, New Jersey; one son, James Ferreira, Jr., Duluth, MN; two sisters; his father, Joseph Ferreira, Florida; two grandchildren, Dane and Alexa DiMartino and his companion, Carol Bloxham, Superior. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Ferreira. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. Fifth St., Superior, and continue until the 2 p.m. memorial service with Deacon Phil Runser officiating.

James McConaghy (1960)

Nick was a good friend through grade school and high school.  We spent many days fishing all over N Jersey.  Some with Tommy Lee.

He was Best Man at my wedding in 1964.  After that I lost track of Nick although I knew he went into the Navy. He eveltually found his way to Superior, WI.  His obit is below.

Lucille Ann Yokell (1960)

Thanks for sending this, Jim. I was so disappointed to find it while looking for classmates during our preparation for our upcoming Reunion that you and I discussed a short while ago. I vividly remember the day Nickie met our first collie, Laddie!
