Karl Erk
September 26, 1953 - February 19, 2015
Karl Erk, 61, a resident of West Milford for over 30 years, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2015.
Karl was born in Paramus, New Jersey, and attended Williamsport Area Community College majoring in aviation. He worked in NYC as a Network Specialist for Miramax, Disney, Major law firms and companies and was employed for many years as a network technician at Armadillo Services in New York City.
Karl redid and maintained an 1860's farm house, from bare bones to gorgeous home.
Karl was also a professional photographer and former owner of a photography store. He was an avid railroad fan and a published author on trains and was also a member of the Sussex County Railroad Club. He loved his trains - both model and massive. Had a small collection of "prized" Santa Fe train memorabilia. Karl had a super quick wit, a lending hand and enormously kind heart.
Karl is survived by his wife Vivienne (Coombs), his daughter Krysten, and her fiancé Dr. Tom Krolikowski, of Scotland, his son Shane of West Milford, his brother-in-law Edward Coombs, and his sister-in-law Patti Coombs, sister-in-law Shelly Wilcock, a Sister Karen Erk, as well as nieces & nephews, and many friends who loved him very much.
Memorial donations may be made in Karl’s name to: to St. Joseph Church, 454 Germantown Road, West Milford, NJ 07480, or VITAS Hospice Care, 70 South Orange Avenue, Suite 210, Livingston, NJ 07039.
