In Memory

Douglas Wesp - Class of 1970

Douglass “Doug” James Wesp

Wesp, Douglass “Doug” James, age 68, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on February 22, 2021, at home after an extended illness.  Son of Robert E. and Ruth (Johnson) Wesp.  He was born May 3, 1952.  Doug is survived by his wife Mariann; children and grandchildren Melissa Roberts (husband Christopher; children Alexis and Gabrielle), Kera Masino (Justin Rusin; children Killian, Bailey, Gianna, Audrina and Colton), Jennifer Myers (children Vienna and Nico) and Joshus Habel (wife Allison); and brothers Richard Wesp (wife Mary Lou), and Robert J. Wesp (wife Debra).  After studying at Fairleigh Dickenson University, Doug developed an interest in surveying.  He worked with several surveyors in northern New Jersey before becoming proprietor of his own land surveying company.  After retiring in Little Egg Harbor, Doug looked forward to visits from his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed fishing and boating in the bay.  The family would like to thank Allen Piccininno, Christopher O’Connor, and the staff from Bayada Hospice (Toms River) for their support and care.  Doug’s wishes were to be cremated with no service.  He often went out of his way to help others; in memory of him, consider doing the same or donating to your favorite charity or to Pibbles and More Animal Rescue using paypal, friends and family, to melissapmar@gmail.com, add a message “for Doug Wesp.”
