So sad...I remember Gary well from high school days.  Great person!

The very first day I met Gary, we got into a near fistfight during a pickup basketball game at Westbrook. He was a great guy, of course, and we quickly moved past that rocky start and became friends.  Even though I didn't see Gary much after I moved to Vermont, it was always a pleasure to catch up with him whenever I got home to Paramus.

Gary, was my close friend for 47 years. Vacations, Holidays, and everyday life for me and my family, won't ever be the same without him. He leaves behind 2 wonderful children who both have Gary's sense of humor, and love of friends and family. He lives on though them. The first song that Gary taught me to play on guitar was Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here". I can't think of a more fitting title for how we are feeling now. Rest in Peace my friend.

Last week was difficult for many of us as we said goodbye to Gary Asher. Personally Gary has been a very close friend for the past 45 years. He was a great father to his wonderful daughter and son. He was a gifted attorney. In his younger days a gifted athlete (i.e. nobody hit a softball farther).. I will miss his kindness, sense of humor, and passion for life. He was the dictionary definition of what a friendship is.

If I could give a good wish for others, it is to have a life long friend like Gary Asher. It brings quality and enjoyment to the long and windy road. Thank you my friend. Rest in Peace.

Ron and Evelyn DeSciora
