In Memory

Warren Earabino - Class of 1960

Warren Earabino

Warren Earabino, long-time resident of Cresskill, died peacefully in his sleep on November 9, 2023. Born in New York City, his family eventually moved to the suburbs where Warren was in the first graduating class of Paramus High School in 1960. His adventurous spirit led him to Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA where he earned a bachelor's degree and met and married the love of his life, Earlyn Von Hoven. Two kids and a few dead-end jobs later, Warren returned to New Jersey where he earned his master's degree in education and answered his true calling by becoming a teacher. Reminiscent of the 1970's hit show, "Welcome Back, Kotter", Warren returned to Paramus High School and was a beloved teacher there for 35 years. Summers found Warren managing various pool clubs, where he always had "jobs" for his daughters and their friends. His generous spirit, gift of gab and infectious sense of humor never ceased to brighten everyone's day. In retirement, Warren donated much of his time to the Office of Concern Food Pantry. A life-long animal lover, he and Earlyn rescued and cared for a vast array of critters, too numerous to count. Adored father of Liz (husband Peter Lehmann) and Jennifer (husband George Allen). Cherished grandfather of Sam (husband Andy Stahl), Cassie, Nate and Alex Lehmann, Matthew, Casey and Cali Allen. Great grandfather of Hannah and Jordan Stahl.

As an expression of sympathy, contributions in Warren's memory may be made to: Pet ResQ, 24 W. Railroad Ave, Tenafly, NJ 07670; Office of Concern Food Pantry at St. Cecilia, 55 W. Demarest Ave, Englewood, NJ 07631; or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I am sorry to hear the news. What a fun and light hearted person. My family was very close to Warren's parents who also were always a lot of fun. Many times after church we would have breakfast with the family. My Dad, (TomPepe) would get the rolls and pastries. I taught in PHS for many years and Warren was there also teaching before he retired.. His Mom's maiden name was Duke. Patti Duke was his cousin. I am not sure how many people knew that. Anne (his Mom) would cut and style my Mom's hair all the time at her house. I have great memories of Warren and the families getting together. I pray that you find peace in your sorrow. With great sympathy , Jill Pepe Gregory class of 1970

Warren always had a smile for everyone.  Who can forget Warren and Muriel doing the "fast dance" aka jitterbug?  My sympathies go out to his family. Another great Spartan has left us.  RIP Warren.
