Roberta Anne Muklevicz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roberta Anne Muklevicz (Downs) in Camarillo, California on September 13, 2023. Roberta was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, friend, neighbor, and teacher. She was born on July 29, 1943, in Westfield, Massachusetts to George and Blanche Downs. Upon her father's return from the Pacific in World War II, the family moved to US Army housing in Brooklyn, New York. At a young age, Roberta and her family moved to New Jersey. She spent her young adult life in Paramus, New Jersey, where she met her husband Joseph (Joe) Muklevicz in high school. Roberta began her college career at Tobe Coburn Fashion School in New York City and matriculated to the University of Tampa, graduating in 1965. Roberta and Joe were married in 1965 in Tampa, Florida. They relocated to New Jersey and then California, where she taught for many years at Saint George's School in Laguna Hills. She was named teacher of the year at the Moraga School in Moraga. Upon relocating to Camarillo she taught for many years at the Mount Cross Preschool, where she concluded her teaching career. She loved spending time with family, was an incredible baker and chef, and enjoyed sewing. She particularly loved hosting family holidays and traveling with her husband, Joe. They visited many countries in Europe and Asia, her favorite vacation spot was Koh Samui, Thailand. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special event in the lives of the people she loved. Roberta is survived by her husband, Joe, and three children, Joseph (Linda) of Dove Canyon, CA; Christopher (Kelly) of Camarillo, CA; and Cynthia Eyre (Matthew) of Mission Viejo, CA; as well as her grandchildren, Katie, Jackie, Megan, Christopher, and Kevin; and her brother George (Patty) of New Jersey. The family is forever grateful to her dedicated doctors and nurses as well as the Saint John's Hospital Camarillo Team and will honor Roberta by dedicating a patient room in her name.
