I'm sorry to have to tell you that Jeff McDonough passed away on March 14, 2012.  If you knew Jeff by more than his name or face, you knew that he was truly one of life's real characters.  He was always quick with a smile, had a wicked sense of humor, and recognized early on that life was a gift not to be squandered.

He will be missed.

Sadly, what I observed while my family lived across the street from the McDonoughs on Crain Road from 1957-1980, and spending LOTS of time there, is that being at PHS with his father as prinicpal--and mocked as "Fudd"--was extremely hard for Jeff, gave him a big push toward his dark side (e.g., I saw his choice of friends change; he started hanging with a non-PHS/angry/bad-news neighbor), and contributed a lot to his tortured adult life and early demise.

Most childish/youthful cruelty never amounts to too much, but sometimes....

Jeff was one of my best friends and I will always have wonderful memories of him. His parents were also very kind people who took me in when I was having troubles at home.
