Yolanda Picarello, 88, of Bethel, Vermont, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 15, 2005, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

She was born Nov. 4, 1916, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Pellegrino and Lucia (Santucci) Delli Venneri.

She attended New York City schools and graduated from Hunter College in New York. She continued her education at Columbia University in New York where she earned her master’s degree. She was a language teacher for many years.

She married John Picarello Oct. 31, 1948 in the Bronx. The Picarellos came to Vermont in 1993.

Survivors include her husband, John Picarello of Bethel; her son, Gregory Picarello of Stockbridge; a brother, Albert Delli Venneri of Anaheim, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Danielle and Christopher Picarello.

She was predeceased by her sister, Michelina Delli Venneri; and her brother, Renato Delli Venneri.

Interment at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
