Virginia Lindner, 91, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2022 in Sloatsburg, NY, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Harry, and her three daughters, Beth, Jane, and Kara and their spouses Mark, Patrice, and Jim. 

Daughter of the late Vicent and Helen Povilitis, Virginia grew up in Fresh Meadows, Queens. She received her masters degree in mathematics from St. John’s University and worked as a high school math teacher. 

Virginia and Harry met as first-time teachers in a school in North Bellmore, Long island. They raised their children in Paramus NJ, where Virginia taught high school math for 18 years. She helped to establish the Rotary Interact Club at Paramus High School, a social service club that afforded student opportunities to help people in their communities and abroad. 

In their retirement years, Virginia and Harry lived in West Milford, NJ. They were very active in the lives of their 5 grandchildren, Emma, Maggie, Grace, Abby and Aidan, attending ball games, musical performances, and all their school events. Virginia also enjoyed visits with her sister, Patricia, nephew and niece, Todd and Megan, and her cherished friend of 90 years, Wilma. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
