Ronald (Ron) S. Weber, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away Tuesday Sept. 2, 2025, after a five year battle with thyroid cancer. Ron was born on December 16, 1967, in Teaneck, NJ, to Jeanne Therese Poretta Weber and the late Ronald Otto Weber. Ron graduated from Paramus High School in 1985. He went on to the College of William and Mary to earn BA degrees in Government and Religion in 1989 and his MBA in 1994. He met the love of his life, Melissa Lee Sutton Weber, in college and they were married on March 27th, 1993.
Passionate about the outdoor amusement business, Ron participated in just about every aspect of the industry. Beginning his career as marketing director of Amusements of America, Ron went on to own his own carnival and run several small private fairs. He eventually opened Innovative Marketing and handled advertising campaigns for fairs and carnivals all over the country.
In recent years, Ron devoted himself to his role as Editor of CarnivalWarehouse.com, where he elevated coverage of the amusement business with his insight, knowledge, and passion. Most recently, he launched the Amusement Warehouse Podcast, a personal project that allowed him to share stories, preserve industry history, and highlight the people who made the midway so special.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ron had a deep love for tennis, both playing and watching, and shared that passion with others as a coach at Hickory High School and Catholic High School. Whether on the court or in the stands, his enthusiasm for the game never wavered. His love for racket sports did not stop there, he participated in several table tennis tournaments throughout his life, eventually winning the US National Championship title in hardbat doubles. He was a longtime member of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church serving as a member of the parish council and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
His legacy will live on through his mother, Jeanne Weber, wife, Melissa Lee Sutton Weber; their daughters, Mary Weber Tapp and husband Austin, of Chesapeake, VA, Anne Weber of Falls Church, VA, Margaret Weber, Isabelle Weber, and Molly Weber all of Chesapeake, VA; their sons, Chris Weber and his wife, Ali of Midlothian, VA and Anthony Weber of Chesapeake, VA; their grandson, Elliott Tapp of Chesapeake, VA; and his two sisters, Cheryl Thayer and husband Michael of Paramus, New Jersey and Denise Weber and wife Allyson Sandak of Titusville, New Jersey along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
