AnnMarie Morton

August 9, 1965 - May 11, 2015

Ann Marie Morton, 49, entered into the presence of Our Lord May 11, 2015. Born Aug. 9, 1965, in Hackensack, N.J., she was the daughter of Gerald and Alice (Esposito) Morton. 

She graduated from Paramus High School in Paramus, N.J., in the Class of 1983. She moved to the Cooperstown, NY, area shortly after graduation and had lived and worked in the area ever since. She enjoyed crafts, writing poetry, reading, traveling with her daughter and granddaughter, animals of all sorts especially her pets, nature walks, the beach, her many friends and visiting Florida. 

She married her longtime friend, Robert "Bob" Lysiak on March 9, 2014. 

Ann Marie is survived by her husband; mother, Alice Morton of Route 33, Cooperstown; daughter, Melissa Welch; and granddaughter, Mia Welch, both of the Oneonta area. She is also survived by her five brothers, John (Adele) Morton of Forked River, N.J., James Morton of Staten Island, Gerald (Rosemary) Morton of Waterville, Robert (Anna) Morton of Emerson, N.J., and David (Andrea) Morton of Hillsdale, N.J,; two sisters, Kathleen Morton of Ashville, N.C., and Pearl Brandsness of Clark, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. 

Given Ann Marie's love for animals, the family suggests that those who so desire make donations in her memory to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
