Linda Goering Heidt

Linda P. Heidt peacefully went to be with her Lord Thursday, April 12, 2012 at her Lyndon home at the age of 68.
Linda was born May 10, 1943 in Stamford, Conn. to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Von Lienen) Goering. In 1961 she graduated from Paramus High School in New Jersey. On April 30, 1966 she and Francis J. Heidt were united in marriage. The Heidts relocated to Vermont in 1967, living in St. Johnsbury until moving to their home on Rt. 122 in Lyndon in 1969.
Linda was a faithful and active participant in the Lyndon Bible Church. Among her many endeavors at the church, the placement of the church's steeple was very important to her. Linda worked at JCPenney for 27 years, working there up until November of last year. Linda was a caring, compassionate person who connected with people by making cakes and through her arts and crafts. She knitted newborn toques and thousands of hats!
Survivors include her husband Frank; three of their four children: William Heidt and wife Catherine of McAllen, Texas, Christopher Heidt and wife Lesley of Martha's Vineyard, Mass., Gretchen Collins and husband Bart of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren Audrey and Ryan; her brother Richard Goering and wife Lynn of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters: Elizabeth Jaeger of Randolph N.J., Gail Parent and husband Brian of Arizona. She was predeceased by her third child Lorraine in 1974.
