Donald Pendley

November 5, 1950 - August 9, 2025

Donald L Pendley, 74, of Trenton, ME, died on Aug 9, 2025. Don was born Nov. 5, 1950, the son of the late Loretta Pendley.

Don retired as the director of Hospice and Palliative care for the Home Care and Hospice Association of NJ. Don was a long-time member of Mensa.

A former newspaper reporter, he held an M.A in journalism from Syracuse and a B.A. in English and political science from Montclair State.

Don was a longtime supporter of the arts. His membership with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society made his last years fulfilling and enjoyable.

Don enriched the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ immensely, and his legacy lives on in the lives he touched through his work and the impacts he made on hospice and palliative care. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

Don is survived by his sister Trudi Pendley of Trenton Maine, his niece Tabatha McKay (Christopher Bush) of Holden Maine and nephew Robert McKay (Nikki) of Trenton Maine; great niece Amelia McKay. Don is also survived by his late wife’s family Will and Sherry Gower of Salem NJ along with Michael (Alicia), Rebecca Ferguson (Sean) and their children Brayden Atticus and Aurora. Don was predeceased by his wife Donna Meade Pendley and his daughter Katelyn Villasenor.
