Paul Pecoraro July 30, 1944 - July 28, 2025 from Aiken, Hilton Head Island, and Paramus NJ. Preceded by Marianne (ne Darbee) his wife of 50 years and parents Aura and Gerald Pecoraro. Brother to Gerard and sister-in-law Carol (deceased), Sister Jane and husband Jeff Shell , Brother Mark and wife Connie.
Born in NYC and raised in Paramus, NJ, Paul was an accomplished athlete lettering in three sports at Paramus High School. Paul attended Villanova University where he played Varsity Baseball, graduated with an Arts Degree and as a Naval Officer.
After graduation he served in the Pacific and the Gulf of Tonkin Vietnam with the Seventh Fleet on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea as a lieutenant. Paul met his wife Marianne while working for Citibank in NYC. Promotions, transfers, and bigger opportunities led them across the country until they settled in Walnut Creek/San Francisco. Paul continued to play baseball while he cheered for his beloved NY, now SF Giants.
After a distinguished career in banking Paul and Marianne retired to Aiken, SC where they enjoyed golf, equestrian life and cheering for the Villanova Wildcats. Most recently Paul moved to Hilton Head Island to be near family.
A private family service will be held at St John’s UM Church in Aiken at a date to be announced. Contributions in Paul’s memory can be made to Saint John’s or Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Family Church 24 Pope Ave. Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.
