Kevin Delaney

Kevin Delaney, 64, of Paramus, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Kevin was a Detective Sergeant for the Paramus Police Department.

Beloved husband of Noreen Delaney (nee Felten). Devoted father of Kevin Delaney. Cherished brother of Nancy Berdan Watson.

Detective Sergeant Delaney has been recognized with numerous commendations throughout his distinguished career. His accolades include awards for exceptional service in cases involving aggravate assaults, burglary apprehensions, and mall robberies. As a member of the NJ Honor Legion, he has demonstrated unwavering commitment to law enforcement. His honors encompass the Honorable Service Medal, multiple CPR awards, and recognition for plain clothes operations leading to narcotics arrests, dismantling organized retail theft rings, and prosecuting prostitution networks. 

Notably, he played a pivotal role in arresting a career burglar shortly after a residential break-in in Rochelle Park and apprehending a suspect involved in multiple strong-arm robberies. While serving on a county-wide task force, he was instrumental in capturing the "Dunkin' Donuts" bandit. Additionally, during his tenure with the Anti-Crime Unit, he collaborated with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office to apprehend a serial bank robber and successfully arrested two individuals responsible for stealing a puppy from a pet store at the Westfield Mall.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 10:00 am ~ 12:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Memorial service will begin at 12pm. Cremation will be private.
