Bob Vellucci - Class of 1974

Robert A. Vellucci

 

Robert A. Vellucci died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, in Hampton. He was 45. Born in Paramus to the late Patrick Vellucci and Jean Juliano Vellucci, he moved to Union Township 17 years ago. Mr. Vellucci was a biology teacher for Hackettstown High School. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Montclair State College in 1978, and his master's degree in education from East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa., in 1986. Mr. Vellucci was a parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Califon. He was a former coach of football and baseball at Hackettstown High School and was a former coach of North Hunterdon Little League Baseball and Clinton Town ship Summer League Baseball. Mr. Vellucci was an announcer at Hunterdon Huskie Football games, an active outdoorsman, and enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.

He created and supervised, with his high school students, the Habitat Enhancement Project on the Musconetcong River in the center of Hackettstown.

Mr. Vellucci was also active in many area charities.

He was predeceased by his father, Patrick Vellucci, in 1985.

Mr. Vellucci is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laura Cook Vellucci of Union Township; two sons, Robert Patrick Vellucci and Michael Gerard Vellucci, at home; a brother, Patrick Vellucci, of Paramus; and his mother, Jean Vellucci of Paramus.
