Patricia Ellen Haldane
May 5, 1950 - January 12, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ellen Haldane Bosley. She passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 73, surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born in Rochester, New York on May 5, 1950. Her childhood was spent in Paramus, New Jersey with her parents Dorothy and James Haldane and sister Barbara. Patricia graduated from Paramus High School where she was a cheerleader and played flute in the band. She attended York College of Pennsylvania and Fairleigh Dickenson University where she received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Patricia married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Richard Fredrick Bosley on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1972. They had two children, Jennifer Paige and Christopher Richard. She continued her education at The University of Houston earning her master’s degree, all while raising two young children. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church and participated in Kids Hope and Petal Pushers for many years.
Patricia’s passion was education, and she often defined her year as being August through May. She began her teaching career in Ridgewood, New Jersey as a student teacher. It was here where she fell in love with teaching young children how to read. Her career spanned several decades and three school districts in the state of Texas: Goose Creek, Midland and Conroe Independent School Districts. In Conroe ISD she taught in The Woodlands at Lamar, Powell and Buckalew Elementary Schools. Pat embraced the art of teaching by being a team leader where she had many accolades, including Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Ultimately, the friendships she made with colleagues, students, and parents defined her career. The lasting impact she had on the students she taught truly defined her legacy. This was evident by the connections she kept with so many through; Christmas cards, social media and just seeing them out in the community.
Patricia was the matriarch of the family. Her love for Richard was evident in their 53 years of marriage. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, creating lifelong memories. Family gatherings, celebrating life’s events, was her way of bringing the family together and close to one another. Patricia was blessed to see both of her children graduate from college, marry, and have children of their own. Her four grandchildren, Evelyn, Brayden, Emma, and Nicholas meant the world to her. Grandma’s house was a place where they could go to swim in the pool and raid the pantry for sweet treats. “What happens at grandma’s house, stays at grandma’s house.” Grandma always held a special place in her heart for each one of them and even had a necklace symbolizing each grandchild that was treasured as she wore it close to her heart.
Patricia will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Bosley, who walked with her throughout the years as they shared an everlasting love for one another. Her daughter, Jennifer (Bosley) Bardenhagen and son-in-law Peter Bardenhagen; granddaughter, Evelyn; son, Christopher Bosley and daughter-in-law, Christina; grandchildren, Brayden, Emma, and Nicholas; sister, Barbara and brother-in-law William Johnson. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and James Haldane.
