Barry Yarkoni

Barry Yarkoni, class of 1970, passed away on August 3, 2023. Barry received an Electrical Engineering degree from University of Rochester, where he met his beloved wife Nancy.  In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two daughters, a son, their respective spouses and 21 grandchildren who live in Chicago, Lakewood, NJ and Israel. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Sharon Yarkoni Kalus (Class of 73), brother-in-law Joe Kalus, and two nephews and their wives.

Earlier in his career he worked for such companies as Intel and Apple, but later established several business ventures and consulted for a few start ups and not-for-profits. While he and his wife lived in a few locations over their almost 46 years of marriage, as his career advanced, 30 were spent in Los Angeles and the last 6 were spent in Lakewood NJ to be closer to family.

Barry was having too much fun to retire and worked up until the end. He was a very integral member of his community with his beautiful tenor voice, multitude of skills and interests, and philanthropic support. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy and chose Israel as his final resting place.
