Leo Gunderman - Class of 1978

Leo Gunderman

Leo Gunderman, 46, passed away peacefully at his home after courageously battling Glioblastoma brain cancer for 18 months in Denville. Born on May 9, 1960, in the Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Gunderman was raised and grew up in Paramus before settling in Denville in 1989. He was a self-employed telecommunications consultant. Mr. Gunderman was a coach of PAL basketball. One of his hobbies was riding ATVs with his son and friends. He was a member of the G-Men Band with his three brothers, and enjoyed playing the guitar. His unique sense of humor brought laughter to many. His dad, Richard, and brother, John Gunderman, predeceased him. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 23 years, Christine; his son, Sean; his mother, Eileen Gunderman; his six brothers, Michael and his wife, Elaine Gunderman, Richard, James and Kenneth Gunderman, Daniel and his wife, Deborah Gunderman, and Edward and his wife, Terry Gunderman, and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Leo to the Brain Tumor Center of N.J., 99 Beauvoir Ave., Summit, N.J. 07901.

Jill Pepe (Gregory) (1970)

Sorry to hear about Leo. He came from a. very large family of all boys. I always said Mrs. Gunderman was a woman of great patience. I used to go listen to the band Micheal had but did not realize Leo was in it. If I have this correct. Always saw his Mom on voting day at East Brook MS. We all grew up in the same neighbor. Always a lot of fun surrounded by great neighbors. I pray that the family finds peace in their sorrow
